Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Sorry to hear about that biz. Hope you have a safe week.. My grandmother just passed away suddenly last year, so I know how hard it is.

It's so small and compact!

That's a 5lb CO2 tank. This whole setup will easily fit under the right compartment where my dosing setup was.

Our tanks are QTs.. Don't waste your money. If you had a larger tank or get a 5 million dollar fish, than yes.

Things are moving in the right direction for you. Keep it stable for a couple weeks and then we talk additions. What type of coral do you like sps or lps?

I'm leaning toward LPS at this point. Maybe some torch or frogspawn?

I would def recommend dipping your corals though..If you trust that your LFS does this, then you maybe ok. If not, dip. Last thing you want to do is introduce some nasties into your tank after all this hard work getting it up and running!

As for coral pics, buy what you like to look at....avoid LPS/SPS right now till the tank has more time to mature...

Good advice, as always. Do you have a dip that you like? Was looking at one by Brightwell Aquatics. As for LFS, I'm somewhat SOL here. There are five stores within driving distance that have marine livestock. Of those, three have inverts. The one closest to me normally has a dead fish or two in each tank and a healthy amount of aiptasia visible in their DTs. There is a super nice store about two hours away, but their invert selection is not as impressive as their fish & supplies. And the one remaining is actually the one I'd definitely trust the most. And they're currently in the process of relocating! So for a whole lot of reasons, I'm gonna wait a while on adding any livestock whether I like it or not!

Well we will see how stable my tank really is....got a phone call that my grandmother passed last night and took a flight out to charlotte today...so we will see.

92 years old..she had a great life and was ready to go

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, Bizacon. Never easy, but it's good to hear that she lived long & well.

Charlotte's a good city. Will be there in a few weeks myself. Which reminds me that I need to either get an AFS on order or train my mother to tank-sit. If you're into sushi, Ru San's in CLT is definitely worth a visit.

I have to say... that really looks impressive! I'm definitely interested to hear your results with the reactor on this tank. Since the microbubbles went away, I have been super happy with the Aquamaxx HOB-1 skimmer. Hopefully you'll get equally good results out of that S-Nano reactor.

Hopefully it works well. Will get your DOS packed up and shipped out tomorrow jguinn

Jquinn I use Coral Rx and think it's great thus far. Just follow the directions and you should be good. I usually drip acclimate free coral first in one container, then pour (depending on the coral size) Coral Rx in a separate container with my tank water and dip the coral in for about 10-15 minutes. Afterwards I get some fresh water from my tank and rinse the coral out ( get the coral rx off), and then add the coral to my tank.

Sorry bout to the loss Bizacon, I lost my grandma two months ago.

Coral rx here too. It works!

You could take a 2 day trip up here next weekend and attend reefapalooza. That would solve your problem fast! Except for the 12 h ride in each direction... I lost count of the coral sellers attending..

:hmm5:

Thanks guys. Appreciate it. It's like 90 degrees here and muggy. I lived in Charlotte and have spend a lot of time at Clt. So I agree, great sushi.

I think Lps are more enjoyable to watch and will not stress you out. I do a have a few sps, but mostly lps

I would come to reef show or in all seriousness have reduck go over to ultimate and pic a few for you over there. Mark has lowered his shipping to 35 dollars and he has some great pieces; plus reduck can he them for you.

For the mud tank.. You can easily buy a cube and just do the aio dyi. There is a build thread in here that someone did it. Very interesting

I have thought about buying a regular cube and building the overflow area myself but I really like the quality of the IM tank with the low iron glass and the cover.

Do any of you know of a 40-60 gallon cube that has the low iron glass for $300 or less? The only tanks I have found are the regular glass and about the same price as the IM. For the money I think the IM is the best out there.
