Well. got the Calcium Reactor running and hooked up.. I guess its back to daily pH and calcium for a couple of days..

I'm happy the standard Apex has 2x pH probe ports on it. Have one probe in the tank and one in the reactor to turn off regulator if pH gets below 6.5

So far it seems to be working well.. Just want to get the drip rate and bubble count right to keep it around 6.6 without having to use the regulator's solenoid.

THIS seems like it will be in my future.. since fine tuning a drip rate with a ball valve is less than precise.

My tank looks like its on life support with all the hoses and wires coming off of it now.. With the addition of the UV, external GFO/Carbon reactor, cooling fans, Calcium Reactor.

can't wait for results from frankentank...
Like to see a pic of how the cal reactor fit, or is it external?

Um...yea..that remains to be seen..one week away..
Just started rats nest project.....mps and display mounted...what a mess of wires and modules..
I should just leave it be and save this for next tank.

Depending on where you live, I would hold off... I think reduck will be selling his soon :)

Here ya go Reduck

Its actually very compact. No more 2 part dosing, just get this setup right and add aragonite occasionally.

Im guessing this 5lb CO2 tank will last me at least a year, and the $20 aragonite media will probably be close to the same.

The one thing that worried me about 2 part dosing was the lack of trace minerals. The dissolved aragonite has everything.

How much noise does it make?

Very cool! I'll expect a weekly report!

Only thing I've had to change so far is I HAVE to open my window where tank is at night.. The combination of Lights out and the low pH from CO2 had pH dip down to 7.8 overnight.. Opened a window and had a fan run for a bit and pH went back up to 7.95

Have you seen this? I like the idea of a real lab water test!
Think I'll buy a 3 pack and try it out!

That looks awesome! I think I'll get a 3-pack, too... after I get my RODI situation sorted. For some reason our water pressure has dropped again, causing very little finished water production and substantial consumption of the DI resin - I presume due to the poor performance of the RO membrane under less-than-ideal pressure. The mental debate I'm having with myself right now is over two options: 1) pull the dishwasher out and put a j-box under the sink off of its circuit to power a feed pump, or 2) leave the under-sink system as-is (production is sufficient for drinking/cooking) and add a whole other RODI filter in the garage. Either way I'm going to have to get an electric booster pump. Option 1 is less costly, but option 2 keeps me from having tubing coming out from under the sink on basically a permanent basis and gives me some more flexibility in filling larger containers, etc... Hmm...

City water or well? I would guess city water pressure would drop this time of year from people filling their pools...it's been so long since we had city water...I don't know..
