OzATL's 1000g Display Build Thread

New vertical matrix chamber plumbed. (Fed from the bottom). Still need to clean up a bit and add another 5G of matrix. It just came in today.

What does going from 3x1000W halides to 12 Radions look like?

Man, I've seen some nice setups but yours is unbelievable. I love how you built a room around the display tank and I love how the room is just for viewing that tank. With a tank like that you don't need anything else in the room. However, I'd spend most of my time in the filtration room. That setup is unbelievable. Thanks for sharing. Great setup

They are TM series meters.

http://catalog.gpi.net/viewitems/chemical-and-water-meters/tm-series-water-meter-fuel?plpver=1001

From the manual:
Code:
Plan to install turbine with a minimum straight
pipe length as follows:
"¢ Upstream from the turbine, allow a minimum
straight pipe length of 10 times the
internal diameter of the turbine.
"¢ Downstream from the turbine, allow a
minimum straight pipe length of 5 times
the internal diameter of the turbine.

Thanks for posting this. Keep in mind the diameter of these is very small (less than 1.5"). In my system I have a minimum of 5' before and after the flow meters. :)

:headwally: Always the way. Lol.
Fantastic build!

thanks VanJuky

WOW... That electric bill and heat load will be cut down.

I'm expecting the same. Gets 100 degrees with 100000% humidity here in Atlanta so I'm hoping the 2HP chiller oustide doesn't run half as much as before. (Humidistat controlled Air exchanger is set to be installed in the filtration room some time in the next few weeks)

Thanks Cturo14. Appreciate the kind words. I play in the filtration room and chill in the display room now. Family had dinner in the display room this past weekend. Now there is a glass table and chairs in the middle and couches on the sides :mixed:

that's a bizzare little coral. wonder if it was just a tall branch that bushed out, or if it had been trimmed a bunch? weird and cool.

Basically new rock and new sand. Seeing some expected cyano but everything else is looking good.

Hung the Radion G4 over the inline 80g frag tank and put a couple test SPS in it yesterday. Alk at 10.

Going to add the dual emergency overflows and build the second Radion rack when the materials arrive. REALLY happy with their light spread and penetration. Zero dead spots or shadows from the tank braces and mesh screens.

Been cleaning up the filtration room, adding shelving, lighting, workspace, etc.

QT coral PE is great and growth is pretty good so far.

Things are coming along rather quickly again. :)

Sorry. I didn't get much feedback so I stopped posting. Tank is doing great. Went through a 6 month cycle and now on cruise control with very good coral growth and PE. :)

I'll see if I can get a couple new pictures this weekend.

I did have MRC build a new custom iSump. Came out perfectly for my needs.

I'm still jealous of your plumbing. It's a really clean installation.

Sorry if I missed this from earlier, but what was the reasoning behind the new sump?
