P3EX wirelass bridge

I have a friend trying to connect his P3EX through a wireless bridge to his computer. With the Apex it's a simple address through the web browser. Is the P3 the same? If so what's the web address?

He's not very technical, and I've done it with my Apex but I'm not very technical either...kind of the blind leading the blind :)

Steve it's the same as the APEX. There aren't any settings for him to set/change. I spoke with him yesterday and here is what I told him:
  • 1) First you have to hard wire the ProfiLux into the router to confirm connectivity (confirms the cable is correct (ie not a cross over cable) as well as confirms the Ethernet card in the ProfiLux is functioning properly). Confirm unit is accessible using PLC over his network.
  • 2) Next you configure the Bridge to communicate with his WLAN (w/o ProfiLux attached).

now you've confirmed the bridge is talking to his Wireless Access Point and the ProfiLux is able to communicate with his router.
  • 3) Once #1 & #2 are both confirmed it's literally a matter of plugging the Ethernet cable from the ProfiLux LAN port (#12 on the diagram in the manual and in the link I sent to him a couple of weeks ago) into one of the Ethernet ports on the bridge. If you don't confirm #1 & #2 first you wont know where there is a problem.

The reason for doing it in this order is in case there is a problem you know where to look to instead of relying on a vendor matter of factly pointing blame to another vendor.

I've not worked with a LOT of these but the only problem I've encountered in helping others do it are:

A) Firmware issues with Bridge
B) Porting issues with router (access outside the home network only)
C) Using the wrong cable to connect ProfiLux to Bridge (using a cross over cable instead of a regular Ethernet cable).
