So, does anyone know a trick to getting DC AWC mode to actually turn on??? The AWC cycle just doesnt start at all....
I have it enabled, calibrated and saved. Test Pump 1 and Test Pump 2 work fine.

P.S Why is the weekly water change limited to 500l when it is in DC mode?

@andrek
AWC procedure start at xx:50 of each hour.
Can you tell me which size of tank you have if you need to do more 5than 500 liters weekly water change? That limitations is set in software, we never had any questions about that but if you need replace more than 500L weekly - we will ask programers for increase maximum water change volume.

@Jos
We are talking about Android app right? If yes, it's almost finished and when it will be ready we will publish information also in this thread. It should be available very soon.

Przemek,

I moved the user time to xx.49.30. It beeped and started pumping on Pump 1 but after about 15 seconds it stopped and the other pump never turned on. I noticed the screen was blank while the pump was running. I left it alone and tried to catch it at xx.50 and I heard two beeps and nothing happened.

I am using the latest firmware and software available for download from the website. When the software is running and connected the bottom of the windows Shows software version 1.6C and firmware version shows 1.6E, however the title bar in the software 1.6e.

Yeah I've run into this error a LOT. I basically power cycle and soft reset til I get both pumps operating.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that multiple times, no luck. I have a feeling PS didn't quite test the DC AWC function fully.

Are you using optical sensor?
It's required for AWC in latest software/firmware version since floating levels sensors are not supported anymore.

It shouldn't be any issue related to software/firmware. Everything depend from water amount replaced in single change.
If that amount is too small and level sensor will not react to water change - it will not dose "fresh" saltwater.
Be sure that your optical sensor is placed in last chamber and water levels are correct.

The weekly water change amount is set to max of 500l, which translates to 3L per change. Pump 1 is calibrated to 210ml/min, so that means the pump should run for 14min. Only the Optical sensor is installed as main ATO sensor. As Tomasz suggested, I tried removing the Optical sensor out of water, before setting the xx.49.55 user time. Same result, pump stops before 1 min. Also tested, removing the sensor from the water after the pump started running. I also tested setting diffetent calibration values, result is the same.

@Andrek
Please send that information to work@pacific-sun.eu together with information about firmware and software used and screenshot from AWC tab ok?
I will prompt our team for checking that exact settings.
Thank you.

new kore 5th

new kore 5th

I had one of these for 3 years and on Tuesday it kind of went out on me. Crazy. It was 'off' and after I restarted it, all seemed fine. In the morning, however, somehow the entire contents of ALL dosing fluids had been pumped into the aquarium (sump). And the ATO pump must have gone wild too because the sump was almost overflowing. BUT---when I saw the doser, it was again 'off'....totally shut down.

SO, I got a new one today from DeepWater. The updated software seems similar.

My problem: I can get it to "connect" to my laptop and can make the pumps turn on etc, however I cant seem to get the message in the screen to move past "refreshing settings, please wait".

Also the new unit didn't come with the float switch for ATO----only an optical sensor. Is the new rig supposed to run the ATO with optical sensor only? seems strange to me. I cant get the old float switch to activate the ATO pump but I can turn on the ATO pump 'manually' from laptop.

any help is appreciated. I remember having a lot of trouble getting the original unit set up, mostly because I'm too old to know how to program anything.

I noticed that as well. There was a "ready to use" type of message after it finished refreshing the first page in the older versions of software. It seems to work ok though.

I think they discontinued the float switch a while back, so it's optical only now.

P.S welcome to the "my first one broke so I got another one" club. Mine lasted 2.5 years until I fried it.

thanks for the reply,,,,I'm sure there are plenty of nice people in the 'club', but I "would never join one that would have me as a member".

seriously---any info on how to set up the optical sensor would be helpful. Is it still based on 'time' that the DC pump is on and what triggers it to activate? is the optical sensor supposed to be submerged and then you just run the water into sump for xx seconds? I guess I could just play with it. It'd be nice if the manual had at least a description of this....very lame instructions.

also---so, I just ignore that "refreshing settings"? It also doesn't allow me to use the 'refresh settings' button on the "connect" page. I just get an error box.

does anyone know of a customer service number I could call for some help? US based would be nice.....thanks

It depends on the Optical sensor you have. Older ones screw into the same acrylic bracket that the float one used. That one you adjust so that the cone is just below the water surface. The newer ones are glued to the bracket in horizontal position. Those you adjust the bracket so the sensor is halfway submerged at the water surface. In software, you go to the systems tab and change the Optical sensor option to "main ATO" . Next on the ATO tab, enable the Optical sensor check box. It will let you set the amount of time it runs the ATO pump. Be sure you plug the temp sensor and the Optical switch into correct ports as they use the same plug and and are next to each other.
