I have made my decision on the tank builder, Since Aquarium Obsessed is no longer and Aquarium Glass Exhibits is too busy to quote, I will be going with Miracles. They make beautiful tanks and have great customer service. I always had them in my mind but was just looking around for other competitive quotes from other professional tank builders.

Anyways I spoke with Derek @ miracles and we discussed some tank designs for closed loop setup, ect. My plan is to use a DC brush-less pump on the closed loop that way I can change up the flow patterns and gain everything from a vortech or tunze plus more.

The tank will probably be the following
60Lx30Wx28 or 26H
5/8” tempered bottom with 8 holes, 6 for closed loop returns and 1 for closed loop feeds
5/8” tempered end with notch for an external overflow and 2 holes for returns and 2 holes for closed loop returns
Black acrylic insert for back panel including teeth for overflow.
External overflow with 3 holes
¾” starphire 2 long and 1 short
5/8” External eurobrace
Internal eurobraced

I may pay the extra money and just upgrade the back and bottom to 3/4" as well but unsure at this point. Once I get a design on paper, I'll post a picture for reference for everyone to see.

I ordered a SWEET exhaust fan so time ago. It was delivered to me on Thursday, It is an axial exhaust fan that is 6" dia (I will reduce it to 4" for many reasons) 300 cfm at 0 static pressure, very quiet and is very energy efficient.

Oh i forgot to mention, that is has a polypropylene housing and ABS fan blades so its perfect for my application of removing excess humidity when required.

I already drilled a hole through the wall, (made sure I put it on the wall with all the other exhausts and not intakes). I will have this hooked up to 2 ports, one above the sink to exhaust steam from hot water cleaning and another in the wall next to the support column I installed. I will post picture of locations.

It was more important to get the hole in the house installed and sealed before cutting the lawn.

So this summer was not as productive as I had hoped however I did finish framing in the fishroom. I recently attended MACNA in Des Moines, Iowa which was great! I also moved my tank from my dads place to my house on sunday and I finished my beer fridge. I will go into more detail later but here are some quick pictures.

I finally had some spare time to work on my own project for once, This weekend i decided I will probably scrap the radiant floor heating idea in the fishroom. Its really a luxury that I may never use. I'm so conscience about energy saving that I'm afraid ill never really utilize it for the cost. So i decided on where the drain will be and i started braking the concrete to install the new floor drain. Here are a few pics from this weekend.

I have always wanted to be able to do small water changes slowly on a daily basis. So in order to set this up nicely, I want to have a drain that is relatively close to my sump where I would be pulling out a gallon or two a day. So while i'm installing this floor drain, I'm going to install a drain in the wall similar to a laundry room drain used for a washing machine. I will then pump the predetermined volume of water into the wall drain this way i don't have tubes or hoses running across the floor to my floor drain. So I have started to make provisions for this,

This weekend I finally had a chance to get plumb in the drain and good start at the water change drain that will be located in the wall above the sump. I took photos and somehow deleted them before I could load them on my computer.

I also received a new pump from Germany today that I will be using for my closed loop along with my Oceans Motions. It is an Abyzz A200. Unfortunately, there is a lot of work required prior to this installation as it is wired for 230V and has a fused European plug. I will need to do something about that.

I will try and re-take the pictures for everyone in the next 2 days.

Right now I have a 20L keg in there, I believe a 30L would fit. I believe its almost empty as I'm pouring each pint with less and less head. One thing is for certain, draft beer always tastes better and is just too easy. My first keg is almost gone, however hopefully the novelty will wear a bit before i become an alcoholic :beer:
