Padrino's 220 Upgrade

Tank looks great in the pics but what did you find? Excellent progress so far!

I thought there were some VERY fine scratches on the inside panels of the tank. However I was able to remove almost all of them. There is a small chip on the top corner of the eurobrace that would be seen.

I spoke to Derek @ Miracles and he was about to send a truck to pick up the tank and bring it back to their shop. So he will be sending out someone to polish a small chamfer on the top corner. Honestly Derek will take care of any concerns I have in a timely manner there is no question about that.

As an engineer, I am very very anal about a lot of things however I understand manufacturing and what is required to cut glass. I know that it is not always possible to get a perfect score resulting in a dead perfect break. There is piece of eurobrace that is does not have a dead straight break in a 2" section and really i'm not sure I would go through the trouble to do something about it.

If you were to ask me if I'd go back to Miracles, my answer would be YES!

Nice build.

I ended up replacing the piece of eurobrace on the end pane. It turned out well. I haven't reaaly had much time to work on much stuff since my last post however i was able to get a few items started.

I cut out the false bottom for my stand and put some support blocking in between the steel tubes. I still need to prime and paint it before i attempt to permanently fasten it in place.

I have recieved my second abyzz pump for my closed loop and have been slowly acquiring all the fittings i will need for this closed loop setup. I had custom fittings made today so that i could adapt the imperial piping to the metric pumps. I also purchased the remaining components for my second ocean motion 4way.

On the fishroom downstairs, i have wired in one circuit providing more accent light down there. I plan to start tiling this weekend so that i can get this ball moving again. I will post some photos of the recent progression sometime this weekend.

Sorry guys i realize its slow but i work long hours (engineer in automotive industry). Between this and keeping my pregnant wife happy it doesn't leave me much time to build my system. But slowly ill get everything completed :)

No worries here Rob. Im enjoying the cutting edge reef you are putting together. Take your time and don't forget to show us teaser pics every now and then! :)

Teasers like these?

Every time I see an update for this thread I get really excited. Take as long as you need, it is going to be awesome!

At this point in time I am most excited for your stone facade stand.

Well here are some pictures of the fishroom floor. It has taken soooo much time to lay this much tile as ive had to build each tile up independently level (or sloped where the sump will be) due to the terribly uneven floor. Some tiles have been built up over an inch. This requires a separate compound that much go on first. I used Kiesel Servocret and then Kiesel servoflex- trio to put them down. They are expensive but worth every penny. Just for reference, I have put over 300 kg of motar and patch down just to get this level at this point. It has cost much more than I anticipated. Anyways here are some pics. I still need to clean them up and grout later this week.

On the plumbing aspect, I ordered some 1" black flex pvc for the closed loop. By the time it arrives along with my other custom parts I am machining, it will likely be after Easter before the closed loop is plumbed.

I have too many things to do its unreal.
