Pairing known m & f ocellaris -- easy or?

So, we all know that if you have one large & small, you're good.

But, what if I have two pairs, and I want to mix them (ie, pair the female from one pair with the male from another)?

My assumption on best mode of action is to add the female to the male's tank. (the male, being weaker, is at least already established in his own system)...

Does anyone have experience with this? (prefer experience to speculation, please)
