Pale Magnifica

I'm with you on this one. The people who are telling you to buy it are assuming that it is an acclimated anemone. Based on the story, your research, and what we are seeing, I am assuming that the anemone was recently acquired and the guy is making up the whole story so he can sell it at a higher price than what he paid for it.

Yeah I'm ignoring the guys story myself, just basing my opinion on the size and looks from the one pic, and agree that is a high price for bleached, I'd be curious if it stays inflated or not.
I'm also figuring in the price we pay for cipro and the ordeal of QT and treating.
Honestly I'd have less issues w/ a bleached mag than one w/ a bacterial infection and needing treatment, so that to me would increase value if treatment not needed, but the asking price coupled w/ a shady seller would probably make me pass in that I could not trust him to tell me it stays inflated.

Initially, sick Magnifica looks great most of the time. Then the percentage of the time he look bad would increases as he get sicker. I think phender and you are right on. Given this plus a not honest seller and a expensive price, I would forget about this anemone.

Sounds like you are dead set on buying it. If so, why not tell him straight up what you know and you want to rescue it, but not at 150? If it is in fact in bad shape, the seller would let it go for less.

I didn't get it. Unfortunately Magnifica's are very rare here but I still didn't want this 1.
