Pale vs. dark colorful acros

I'm somewhat new to SPS, but I have been noticing two distinct types of colored acros. The first being like the humilis frags I received. Blue/purple color over a white/very pale base color. The pink milli I received was also like this...basically white with pink tint. On the other hand, you look at something like ORA purple tort, and it's basically dark brown with dark purple/blue coloring.

Isn't this a direct result of the amount of zooxanthellae in the tissue? Does this mean some are better (ie will keep their color) in higher nutrient water than others? Does anyone have any opinions on this, or am I crazy :D

TIA

When I first receive corals many are stressed and appear much lighter than they should be. They color back up. Browned corals are certainly not as pretty but are much healthier IMO and will also color back up with the right condition. HTH
