Pale yellow watchman goby help

Hi All,

I have a YWG that I bought just over 2 weeks ago. He was a nice yellow with blue dots but he has been pale/whites looking since I brought him home. Any ideas why he lost his color? He is in a Biocube 14 with 2 small occillaris, a grren star poly, and a zoe frag. The water paramiters are all normal (do need a little Ca), the temp is 77 deg, and the SG is 1.023. I am feed ing Omega One marine flakes and some Reef Plankton, Premium Reef Diet. He comes out and sits on the rocks through out the day. I am not sure what to do for him. Any advice would greataly be appreciated. Thanks

My YWG went through a phase where his colors faded. I researched it here and on other forums and it seems that no one really knows why they change colors (though there are MANY theories).

In general, if he is eating and not hiding, he's ok. Mine changed back to his original color after a couple weeks. Other people's kept the paler coloration, but were healthy.

Hi Smootie,

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find anything on the subject and the LFS said after he acclimates his color would come back. He eats and he perches on the rocks. Some times I think he is waching me instead of the other way around!!!
