Great info. Thanks! I was thinking about putting egg crate on top of a baking sheet (covered in wax paper of course) and using that to make small cubes of the pappone. I'll use your reduced recipe though.

Sorry if this has already been answered but people running PO4 remover, have you noticed that your changeing out the media more frequently with the popone feedings? I have only been using for 3 weeks now and am wondering if the algea spikes would cause your media to last 1/2 as long.?

I haven't had to increase change out of my phosphate remover any more often then before I started feeding.
What kind of algae spikes are your experiencing??

If your having problems with the pappone it is most likely your own fault. You must be doing something wrong. Do you run a dsb or ssb in your tank? If so this could be the cause. It is highly reccomended that the pappone is used for bare bottom tanks. Pappone is not a phosphate bomb. The method requires superior nutrient export and low stocking levels to prevent any nuisance algae problems. A large skimmer is also a must. This is what will get rid of all the left over stuff from the pappone that could indeed cause algae problems. BTW, I have been running the same rowaphos on my reef for 3 months and still test 0 for phosphates after using the pappone for a little less than a month.
Oh yeah, do you need some growth shots to satisfy you?
The spots circled in red show 4 weeks of growth with pappone on my Orange Montipora Capricornis.

I TOTALLY agree with you here also.No sand bed for sure.Because the bed will act as a huge septic tank over time.A few others things that help also.Is a huge main pump to turn the system over.Or Tunzes to move that water around.I got 2 Tunzes and main pump is running 3,000 gallons an hour. To get the particles move threw out the system. Also I removed my filters bags, when this is added. When bags are put back in place, they really pull and the unused food.In the morning skimmer get's turned on,with filter bags put back in place.I also pull up carbon bag.Because I use Reef Plus AA with vitamins.I don't want the carbon to remove it to fast.I recently made a little Red Snapper fish roe.The eggs have a good valve to feeding. There is one guy here, that mentioned adding a little fish roe also.I just added a little in when the food is added.I just start the roe,and will see how it goes.I also don't have an algae problem. It sounds more like folks have a sand bed.And skimmer isn't up to par.
