Parasite? Injury? or ???

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum, but I hope someone can help me identify what's on my fish. I can't tell if it's a parasite or an injury. It's been on him for about a month now. Never seen this on any of my fish before. I've had this Emperor Snapper for approximately 2 months and he is doing very well in the QT. He eats like crazy and is swimming very well. He hasn't shown any signs of being sick. This is the only thing I have found on him. Any insight to what this could be will be greatly appreciated. Please see the attached pics.

Thanks,

Mike

Thank you for the response. It hasn't moved at all. It may have grown a little over the course of a month, but not much. What type of bath should I give it?

It's hard to be sure but it could also be a dug in crustacean parasite.

What is the consistency of that mass?
Is it raised or a hole?
Could you wipe what looks like a clear jelly away with a Q-Tip?

It looks like the jelly substance is attached at the dark spot on the skin which leads me to believe it's something that's alive

I would try giving him a course of metro or pratzi - you should do this for other flukes and worms anyway. If something dies and opens up the wound you had better have proper antibiotics in there such as kanamycin.

Don't try formalin - if there is an open wound, it will kill the fish.

If the metro and pratzi doesn't kill the parasite, you could progress to levamisole - I have never used levamisole so I can't give advice on that front.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I will research these treatments you recommend and see which one will cure this little guy. Thank you again!
