Ordered (2) 48" T-Tracks made my Incra from Amazon for light suspension. I plan to add a 2nd RB Photon 48 so I ordered enough to suspend it when the time comes to add another light.
Got the Photon 48 hung yesterday using T-Track system. It sits 7.5 inches off the waterline but there was no way to get it any higher up. I definitely will have to add another. Even with 120 optics, the lighting can not spread out. I know I can take off the optics but I prefer to get the light down since the tank is 27 inches deep.
Here is a picture of my mounting solution. I'll take FTS once the lights have ramped up higher.
New green haddoni I added on Friday. It's still acclimating to my system but it's already expanded and looks great.
Seems as if the haddoni is acclimating well to the tank and new lighting. Clowns have shown no interest in it at all which I think is a good thing for now.
After a week and a half getting antibiotic treatment, it's doing great with 2 days if being back in the 200.
Introduced the haddoni back to the DT on Friday and it has shown no more signs of illness or weakness. Some time last night, however, one of my pyramid butterflies fell victim so it got a very expensive meal.
Pastey: everything is looking good man! I'm moving in June and figured it would be as good a chance as any to upgrade my 125 to a 200DD. I have 2 Photon 32's and am hoping that they will work okay on the 200 (just got them this month).
I was wondering what you think about the monterey stand and canopy? I know the stand is short, but how do you like the overall access to it? Could you post a pic of the side of the stand with the side door taken off?
Accessibility is one aspect of the stand that I really like. Having the removable side panels is great. Needing to reach something in the back is kind of a pain just because of how far back you need to go so that's not really the stand's fault...more of the tank width. My only problem with the Monterrey stand is the height inside. Other than that, it's a well built piece of furniture.
Here is a picture from the build with the side door removed:
Pastey, can you post a FTS to show the spread of your light? I run two Photon 32's over my 125 but I'm upgrading to a 48" X 36" X 25" later this year and was hoping to be able to use these lights. I would run them front to back (rather than the usual side to side) and I'm hoping to get a 3' X 2' light spread.
My apologies for taking so long to fulfill your request. I haven't been very active online or with my tank.
Here was the tank a few days ago....notice the need for another fixture towards the back to illuminate the back 1/2. DD tank's 3 feet depth really stretches one's lighting budget to the max.
