corals are looking good you have alot of nice pieces hope you win the battle with the aefw luckily you have the frag tank to put your coral in after dip and inspection , you have to find the eggs and destroy that nest..good luck it's a battle I have fought and lost over 2010 took a year to get back in this crazy hobby ...

Thanks, unfortunately this isn't my first bout with them either. I had them in my old system and lost...and prior to that I'm guessing they are what wiped out corals in another system but at the time we just didn't know what they were. At this point I've had them for over a year in this tank I seem to be able to "live with them", but I really want to just get rid of them I thought i had finally broken the cycle. They seem to be at this point limited to 2 pieces a part of me wants to just remove but I feel like if I do that they may just gravitate some where else where as now at least I have a couple lighting rods that I know I can keep dipping and will survive the dips. I have to say though I was really surprised at the quantity I found despite the lack of obvious damage to the coral. Even though there was only 1 on my Garf Bosnai there were clear bite marks. That one piece had 15-20, and I couldn't find a single mark.. who knows. I think over the next month I'm just going to dip those 2 pieces (and a couple validas, and a efflo.) once a week. I know they can take the dips and they seem to be the focal point for the AEFW.
I didn't have the best luck dipping mine. I went to the vet and convinced him I wasn't going to be doing anything bad with the prescription of Interceptor. That worked really well. 1 dose and never again. I dosed the whole tank. Dipping only removes the AEFW on that 1 coral.....they are elsewhere...I promise. Esp with that kinda flow
Just make sure all inverts come out. Clams are ok. But Shrimp, Crabs and Snails come out! 12 hours later and you're done. GL
Thanks, unfortunately interceptor wont' kill AEFW. I did just do a few rounds of dosing it however to deal with the Red bugs (which are now gone).
