I have a PB Tang that's exhibited sgns of ich for the past3 weeks. No other fish show any signs of ich, yellow tang, copperband, 2- percula clowns, 2- banggai cardnials, 2 cleaner shrmp that don't appear interested in the PB. All fish are eating well, including the PB!

I've tried several times to extract with no luck!! The PB is the biggest eater and swims around the tank with no apparent signs of stress, breathing sees OK. She's pretty much covered with ich on somedays she looks better than others. I willcontinue to try and extract but willthis go away on it's own or will the fish eventually loose the battle.

Using garlic drops in food and tank.

Thanks
John

In all honesty, it depends on the individual fish, and how strong he is.
Read this [ich] Knowing what you're up against can only help.

If it were me I would just leave him alone. Try feeding him some Nori(seaweed) from the Oriental market. There's one on Middle country rd first light west of Nichols rd on the south side. This stuff helps my Hippo tang when he gets a little ick.

Good luck,

I have to go find out why that [ich] didn't work......

As Walter said, I wouldn't try and remove the PB, imo all you do when you try to catch a fish is stress all the other fish out. Fish get ick from time to time but if he is eating I would soak his food using selcon or some vitamin c and let it run its course

PBT are very prone to ick because they stress out easily...as mentioned as long that it is eating leave it alone you'll only stress it out more...feed it a varied meaty diet with lots of green, red algaes soaking some in garlic extract....it will take time, but they usually recover if they keep eating well.

I've had mine for almost one year. At first it would ich would come and go every 6 weeks or so. As of last 3 months it's been ich free. I feed dried Nori and Spirilina Brine.
He's quite chubby.

He's not ich free. Unless you have treated, the parasite is alive and well, the fish are just in strong enough shape to fight off the effects.
