i don't get good PE with any of my milles and i cant think of why.

its a 90gallon display with a 30gallon frag tank

filter
sro 2000 and a aqua c ev 180
30 gallon sump

reactor
gfo
carbon
calcium

flow
tunze wave box
tunze nano stream (modded)
and evo 1400

water
salt -1.025
ph 8.2
alk 7.5 dkh
cal 440
mag 1300
phos .02 (hanna bench)
nitrate undetectable

do you dose for alk? 7.5 is a little low. and possibly there might be a fluctuation. are you using a fuge? skimmer? is the mille only sps you have in the tank? thats not doing very well? if its the only sps in your tank maybe its light shock, did you acclimate it correctly with light? did you dip the mille before you put it in the tank for any red bugs or some sort of pest? and lastly how long have you had it for?

months...and no i have a bunch of other sps. i just ordered a apex today so i can track fluctuations better. i bumped up a reactor to raise the alk a little. its just making me crazy i see my friends tank that the coral came from and it has crazy pe and then in my tank not so much....he has a mp40 on a cube tank so i thought it maybe the flow but i dont see how he run it on pulse.

do you have a picture of the PE? i would like to see.

do you feed your tank? its a possibility that you dont have enough nutrients in your tank.

do you see any signs of algae problems?

lol i feed a lot....about 4 times per day and then i dose aa and oyster feast about 1 hour before lights go out...i get pe but its not long and shaggy like his...its just little hairs.

ill get a pic tomor...and ya i did when i got it i dipped and dripped it...maybe i should lower the flow on my wavebox? weird thing is my cali tort has better pe then all my milles...

It's tough to say, I have a few millis with amazing PE, and one or two that have no PE at all.

I would check for any fish that might be nipping, or maybe a hidden crab near by that is harassing it at nite. I would check for Red Bugs, AEFW as well, or maybe it's just not in a spot where it's getting the flow/light it's looking for.

It's tough to say when you have good pe from other corals.

well it shouldnt be your wavebox, you said all your millies doesnt have PE correct? is it directly in front of the wave box ..?

QUOTE=pimp2daizzo;20103315]hmmm should i try turning down my wavebox?[/QUOTE]

If 9 corals are happy and one is off i wouldn't change things around for the one i would try moving it if anything

That tort has crazy PE if thats a daytime pic. My torts polyps were always half tucked and my milles were always crazy hairy. Strange. If your testkits are right on then its either pest(aefw), lighting(too much), or flow (too little).

True, dont change your parameters for one coral if the rest are happy. Trying to get them all perfect at one time is annoying imo.
