Yea he's making quick work of everything in the tank. Im gonna have to make a trip to the lfs and get more snails/hermits. I also have some mysis and selcon being delivered today from foster&smith
So I came home today and he was in the back burrow not moving, looks like he's dead :sad1: . i don't know what went wrong, everything else in my tank is fine. Guess Ill have to contact LA for a refund, this sucks
So what do you guys think if I just get a different species mantis? I've been kinda wanting to get an anemone lately and I know that's going to require a lot of light. Opinions?
I'm not sure a bout other species, but I have a peacock with a RBTA. It is a 90 gallon as compared to your tank, and I have the nem high up on a rock pillar, but it can be done.
Nemy went and was looking at it when I first introduced the nem, but I think she got stung or just lost interest because she doesn't go near it now.
I have 2x T-5 (not sure of the wattage off hand) and 2x 65watt CF. Oddly the anemone is sitting under the CF and when I originally placed it under the T-5's. It went on a good walk to finally get there though.
I think adding an anemone would be a great idea. I currently have a rock flower and am eyeing some of the maxi-mini and regular mini carpet anemones they look so nice. Of course these anemones do not need strong lighting to survive compared to others.
I don't know how well a peacock would do long term under bright lighting or an anemone would do under low to moderate lighting, but if Ashton can get it to work, it is probable other people can get it to work as well. But if you provide hiding spots and caverns all on the bottom it may be all right with bright lights.
Something like this I think would work for both low lighting (anemone placed high) or strong lighting (peacock has plenty of shelter from strong lighting. This IS NOT my tank. The image is from advancedaquarist's website.
