Peanut Worm help

Hey all,

I have (had) a peanut worm, and this morning I noticed it was a little "fuzzy" looking in one spot (like a milky clear liquid in a bubble on the outside middle of the worm). when I came home from work, my worm was in 2 parts. Did it die? or do these guys split like that?? I tried looking online, but didn't find much.

What should I do??? Is he dead? Alive? Should I leave him in there? or take him out??

Here are my tank specs:
75 gallon SW aquarium
200 lbs live sand
36 lbs live rock
Temp: 76 F
Date established: 2/9/07
Rena xP3 canister filter
Prizm deluxe protein skimmer
1 power head

1 blue damsel (for cycling assistance)
Peanut Worm

That milky "bubble" would be the digestive tract poking through a tear in the body wall. They don't normally split like that. they can regenerate to some extent but if the whole body is now in two parts I think it's dying or dead. Could the damsel have bitten him?

The poor guy is dead. The damsel never seemed to be interested in him, so I don't think he bit him. Thanks for your info. :( poor little guy

With 36 lbs of live rock you're bound to have some crabs hiding in the crevices who would be quite happy to eat a sipunc.
