Here watching football with my family, and some how my little cousin threw a pencil in my sump, it was in there for no more then 10 mins. Is lead toxic to fish or coral. I'm am concern about my system.
Lead is toxic to fish and corals as well as you and your cousin. But I doubt you would be able to buy a lead pencil. Most likely it is wood and graphite.
A quality lock on the cabinet doors goes along way when children are involved with saltwater tanks... Really any fish tank for safety of the children and tank inhabitants
Pencils do not contain lead. The black substance is graphite, which does not dissolve readily. The rest is wood. The eraser is some sort of plastic or rubber, and the wrap is probably steel or aluminum, neither of which is a problem. The paint, whatever it is, is not lead-containing.
