Just sharing a picture.

I wish it was mine! When I hit the lotto...

Its at Living Reef in Orlando. It looked healthy and was moving about fine. Didn't seem too shy but I had a hard time snapping a pic it was scooting around too much.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing the picture. I thought someone had already purchased it. Is the store still acclimating it for the customer?

It is sold. They said they were going to keep it for about a year. If anyone is in the area, its worth the trip to the UCF area to see this amazing fish in person.

Yeah that sounds about right. A few years ago I heard some might hit the states with a price tag at 30k each, don't think it ever happened. This is pretty amazing though. Can't be more then a dozen in captivity. If only I could be so lucky to acquire one of these beauty's.

I stand corrected. Apparently a bunch came in around September. I've been out of the loop the past year.

Discocarp - While a year is a long time to wait to actually obtain their newly purchased fish, that's quite a security for whoever takes it home. It will be acclimated to the home aquaria and eating prepared foods by then. It's a huge risk on the living reef's part, but I'm sure it brings some traffic through the store. Imagine spending 22k on a peppermint that's just been collected and it doesn't eat and dies a week after you got it. I heard that koji said the secret to long term success is actual seawater, and slowly acclimating them to our synthetic tank water. Could be hearsay but I believe it. So little is known about these amazing little fish.

If you search RC, you'll find that a few months ago, there WAS a Peppermint Angel quite near you on Candlewood Lake ... unfortunately it didn't survive!
