Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

My reef is pretty empty looking, but in time I will see it come together. The design is three separate columns or islands if you will. Here is a pic of each island :) Starting to fill in gradually, lol...

Thanks Sahin and markalot!
Very much appreciated!
Now only time can do it's thing, will add more sps, but will do so with specific additions for specific locations. I recently scored some major frags, the tank they came out of was filled to the rim with sps, huge colonies, reminds me that these corals do grow, so making proper plans for flow, future grow out, and overall aesthetics not to be ignored.
Thanks!

These are some awesome corals perry:thumbsup:

Don't worry about the empty look,i'm sure you can make them big in no time!
Good move to buy only a few more and let them conquer the tank:inlove:

Thanks Mike!
Just sit back relax, and let nature take it's course, one day I will have some colonies like the rest of you guys:)

Update:
Back in Feb, I lost about 6-7 acros, I believe due to a carbon exchange, and that maybe I did not rinse as well as I normally do, probably the rush job is the culprit. Once I was able to get things calm again, I began purchasing more corals, lps, sps, and zoos, just taking my sweet time stocking the tank. I have been eager to start filling my tank, as you see in the Sunday pic, pretty empty, promising but empty :) Well Sunday afternoon a fellow hobbyist I have met a few times and consider a reefing pal, contacted me and basically told me to come to his house and take all his livestock. Now I have hooked him up in the past with frags, a good deal on hardware re-sells, but the offer was for free, EVERYTHING... This generosity stems from a "Pay it Forward" mentality that I believe was the reason he wanted me to have his reef. I cannot express my gratitude enough, Christopher, a big THANK YOU man!!! Some of the corals are a bit brown, no complaints here, but due to only 2 AI Sols on a 150 tall, not husbandry might I mention... just not enough light, but under my 8 t5's I cannot wait :)
Here are the pics, thanks for looking!

Yes, he stacked plates use a modular method, they locked on top of a fiberglass rod, a very easy break down, the corals mounted to the plates fit perfectly to seal island #2 and #3 together to look like one small island on left, and one massive on on right. Thanks again.

Yes very generous indeed, many of my originals from this 120 were backed up as frags in his tank, I gave him a ton of frags, they came back to me as colonies, plus about 30 more corals. Here are some of the named goodies I can tell right now, other will have to wait for more color. Red Robin Stag, Green Slimer, Blue Tort, Ice Tort, Hawkins Echinata, Setosa(Duplicate), Blue Monster, Red Planet(duplicate), Valida, Teal Stag, Seasons Greetings, Jedi Mind Trick, Green Milli, Ponape Birdsnest, Green Poci, A. Horrida. I also acquired some beautiful fish as well as several lps corals including chalice, favia, cyphastrea, frogspawn, blastos, acans, as well as other softies too. As you can see my tank is loaded. Give me a couple of weeks, the colors are already starting to come in 3 days later :)

Very nice! SPS island looks great!

Thanks Sahin,
I know the video showcases the mixed reef, but eventually the tank will be SPS dominated, but I am happy overall with general layout. Colors not so great yet, but are showing promise daily.

Video looks good, except for when the person filming showed too much attention to all the non SPS in there. :D Seriously, looks really good!

Lol Mark :)
Thanks for the compliment, and yes, I agree, my girlfriends son loves the flowing corals, not too big on sps, next time I do a video it will be SPS influenced, lol...

My wife likes the flowing corals too, lucky for her I have a soft spot for euphilla. Currently we have 7 of those.

Nice tank.

Thanks Wazzel,
I am at the point where I have lost my intense passion for all out sps tanks, I am digging the balance, plus it gives the tank more life. I will always have crazy love for sps though:)
