Governor declared temporary conceal and carry for all legal gun owners, so it is getting pretty nuts around here. I live away from the city, in a very small town, fortunately the people here are great neighbors and look out for one-another. So all my guns dusted off, clips loaded, and tons of drinking water. I have a vortech battery back-up on the way, and possibly family coming over with a generator. We have food, beer, and lots of ice packed in the fridge. Candles, batteries, flashlights, and really all we need. We have until around 1pm to get things in and tied down. Then the hurricane part begins!!! Thanks again everyone, I totally appreciate the kind words and well wishes!

Just heard about this too. Got all my guns ready to go in the house as well. Never know what the crazies will do down here .
 
I agree with you Perry, I turkey bast my rocks as well and they are super clean after three months of daily basting. It took care of my green hair algae issue.
 
Seems to be on its way boys and girls :) Side note, I have a Korilla 4 at 6 watts running off my car battery, lol.. Went to the auto store and got a converter. Stay safe out there FL folks, we are in for a fun go here in about an hour :) Cheers my friends!

the news this morning were all about Florida... and i was just thinking "hope Perry is gonna be okay" :lol2:

Just checking in............ looked bad an hour out........ like, i would be bringing the wind chimes in if i was you Perry.......... :)
 
Thankfully it turned north and went through an eyewall replacement cycle. One model had it strengthening beyond Andrew at midnight and landfalling near Daytona. There were 2-3 hurricane force gusts, but most of Florida just had 25-55 sustained tropical storm force winds. Could have been catastrophic.

Still a few deaths and 1.1 million without power. Everyone should be restored by Sunday.
 
Hey everyone, everything is ok, but that was brutal! We got some crazy gusts, tree limbs down, fence blew down, no power, but no injuries or major damage, we are grateful! Thanks all, will check in all the journals when I restore power! :)

Hello All!
We made it, power back on and just going to run actinics and blue led strips for the day, I was literally on my last leg when I went out to get internet on my phone, you actually had to travel a few miles to get cell reception. I received a voicemail notification and it was Stormborn Reef letting me know the shop had power, and I could use their generator. This was phenomenal news as I rigged up my car battery to a power invertor, and used a Korilla 4 for 48 hours at the point my battery bit the dust, I will try and deep charge it, but got me all the way through. I met Steve and Sarah at the shop, and they let me borrow their generator, which has been running since 9AM this morning. My tank was only still without movement for about 3 hours this AM, but I was really stressing. I cannot thank Steve and Sarah and Stormborn Reef enough, I was going beyond 52 hours at this and these guys totally came to the rescue!
