Colors and growth looking excellent. I like what I'm seeing :)

Thanks again Richard, I am seeing improvements almost daily, but certainly can see from week to week :)

Still loving your scale!

Thanks Matt,
Yeah that milli is going to be sick, I think it has more coloring up to do, side note... the Acid Trip milli is also popping some nice colors....fingers crossed man!!!

Lovely, lovely and more lovely :inlove: I'm digging the rescape so much! And that side shot is simply gorgeous :D

Perry, everything is looking outstanding! Your corals look vibrant and healthy. You guys are gonna make me go and buy some aqua forest products :headwally:

Dom,
Many thanks mate! I am feeling that there is more pop in my corals, I am glad that you have noticed... I appreciate the encouraging words:)

Thanks Conor,
I really appreciate you looking things over and also the kind words. What I like about the AF products is that you do not have to use all of them, I am just choosing that direction, lol... You could have your own nutrient poor regime, and use trace minerals, or coral supps. You can run the system without zeolites. You can use the balling lite component method or simply use whatever has worked so far for you. It is very interchangeable, what I have noticed is that pretty much whatever they are indicating that the product will do or support, that it does just that. I don't think you will be disappointed :)

Display is looking good Perry, i think you need to buy some more acros...........;)

It's you guys and your learned SPS keeping skills that are responsible for how great both your reefs are looking, the AF is just a tool that i'm sure many will find easier to employ thanks to your journal Matt

***? You recruiting for the Rebel Alliance now??? Biggles makes a great point here though, I just finished reading back in your thread to where you started with AF. I appreciate your efforts in the documentation and you ( and Matt) have cleared up a lot of questions I had about the system. So thanks!

For anyone in Canada, specifically in the GTA, Canada Corals will have AF in a few months. In the mean time we can watch this thread for more brilliant results
Good to know, I have a cart filled on Amazon.ca and I am just seeing if I can rationalize pulling the trigger as I already stocked up on Salt on boxing day...
I wonder if CC will be the same price as on Amazon.. I somehow doubt it will...

I think I remember seeing somewhere that the Probiotic salt comes with a sample of Pro Bio S. How big is the sample? I just want to know if I should get another bottle on my order or if it's the same size...

Perry, your reboot looks great, your Red Planet is outstanding but I kind of liked the deep color of the first pic a wee bit better... It is still outstanding though!

Cheers!

Loved the latest pics, that scape really works for this tank. More Red Robin pics. :)

Mark thanks for the love of the red robin, lol... This one is changing on me, not that I am complaining, but it's one I will continue to document, so no worries on pics, they will come plentiful :) I love the scape, mostly that detritus does not settle, I have a ton of flow. Eventually I will add more acros on flat frag plugs on the floor of the tank, the ones down there so far seem happy with the amount of light they are getting, flow again is of no concern, lol...

Thank you for the compliments, I am mixed on the planet as well, but it is now showing more white at the tips, and is holding a more pink color, with a faded neon green. I like it, but it does not really resemble a RP, at least to me... I guess the higher placement is not going to allow the deeper tissue saturation...hmmmm.....:reading:
Thanks again for your kind words, the AF system seems pretty locked in and consistent, so I am pretty much staying the course outlined in the PDF, maybe a 20% less approach, I have a few spots of green cyano, so I will up my Coral B dosage, and maybe return to daily dosing, just less. Other than that, the salt is amazing!!!

Perry :beer: ^^^ that looks great. Awesome job. And I absolutely love that RP on post #590.

Perry your colors are looking great! So with aquaforest do you have to go low nutrient (ie is it comparable to zeovit in that regard)? Not trying to derail the thread...

The RP is taking on new colors, I will have to post it up here soon :)

Hey Tim,
I would say yes and no. Really depends on what you are wanting to do. For example, if you are going to run the probiotic system, then you would want to use the probiotic salts. In combo, you would want to use Pro Bio S and NP Pro to run ULNS. However, you can employ the use zeolites and phos minus, to further reduce nutrients. This is the core of the system, like zeovit, it is what gets you to ULNS. As I am sure you are aware, you can drive nutrients low with other methods, so you could have your own system for a nutrient poor tank(ex. Refugium, Bio-Pellets, DSB, etc.), and simply employ the micro nutrients and coral supps and foods along side of your system. I have found AF's version of ULNS to be quite stable, not perfect, but efficient at driving nutrients low, but maintaining them low. I think this is why I have decided to deepen my commitment to their products, because they are very much affordable, and quite efficient. Hope that make sense :) Thanks for stopping in on my journal, all comments, critiques, feedback, etc. is more than welcome... Cheers!

Moving to the AF program myself on a three year mature SPS dominant tank. Thanks for the updates. Following, tank looks amazing.

Thanks Perry! I've thought about using their Probiotic salt as I have some Siporax on order from Germany and would be interested in trying to maintain "selected" bacteria. I just didn't want to dive in on the full system and drive it too far towards ULN. I've never had nitrates above 5ppm and I don't want to starve my Acros by only going partially in on their system (not sure if that would be the end result of just using their probiotic salt and pro bio s).

All is looking great !!!! CONGRATS !!!!

Following the thread as always,.

Best
Daniel

Awesome Daniel, thanks for checking in, new page, you know what that means....lol... time for some photos :)

Tweaked, how are things, thanks for popping in and checking things out. I think you will be surprized at how easy the transition is, quite gentle, nothing that will freak your corals or inverts out.

Sounds like a great plan, I use siporax, smaller ones, in a TLF reactor, probably about 60gph. I am using 2Liters at the moment. I was already running very low nutrients too, I have a smaller bioload, and my concern was to drop nutrients too fast. This did not happen to me, I did sort of mini-cycle, but that passed quickly. Nutrients stayed the same, despite upping my fish feedings double, and using the aminos, and other supps. That said, I have a few patches of green cyano, but nothing too unsightly. You will figure it out, the system is quite easy to run...
Regards,
