Personatus

BTW breeding them isn't as easy as Karen made it out to be, sure they will breed but keeping the babies alive long enough to eat something other than wild plankton is much easier said than done. She is a master at this and what she did shouldn't be taken lightly

When were they collected?

Thanks for the kind words Dmorty. Sorry if I come across making raising the larvae sound easy. It does take a lot of time and effort but it's my passion so well worth it to me.

Not sure when they were collected but RT got them yesterday. On thier website they claim the last pair they sold that whoever bought them bred them and got 40 individuals from the breeding and sold them. Not sure if they are embellishing the story or if they are talking about you Karen? Rufus gave you the pair you have right?

I would strongly suggest due dillegence before wiring RT 20k. You might want to go to HI & view them personally. At least I would ;)

Apparently Ron is planning a trip to Maui tomorrow so I'm under the assumption he doesn't have them yet... But is hoping to catch them?? Sounds like bad buisness practice to me.

After speaking with a few collectors in Hawaii it seems this is par for the course with Ron's buisness practices unfortunately. I for one won't be ordering from RT distributors... Ever

Brian Williams bred them.

Yes, the pair I raised the babies from was collected by Rufus. I haven't heard of anyone else captive breeding personatus but anything's possible. I looked at RTs website but don't see anything about it there. Maybe I'm on the wrong site. I looked at http://hawaiisaltwaterfish.com

Last summer they immed contacted a bunch of people offering gps for a much cheaper price than those on the market...they also had nothing nice to say about the "Gp project." I spoke with them and when I told them who I was and that I already had 3 gp but wanted 3 more, they suddenly claimed they weren't the people they just were, literally, the same guy suddenly changed his voice and said he wasn't the guy I had just been speaking to and hung-up...lol, it was so bizarre and hilarious at the same time...avoid them...

Funny how the truth comes out... Long story short anyone reading this thread if they aren't coming from Karen you can be assured that they either don't have them or they are blowing smoke up your a**

5" sounds really small to me for breeding size. Karen's male must be close to a foot, the female about 7-8" if I recall correctly.
