well i made the trek last night to abc,traffic was a hell.i was running late so i called them.they didnt have a problem waiting for me.these guys are great. angela i would give them another try.at least untl we get a quallity shop down here come on finnyas
 
I can say from personal experience, every honest person makes an honest mistakes from time to time. Do something right no one finds out, do something wrong everyone finds out.

This is so very true. Had the correct fish been at the store you wouldn't even be reading this right now.
 
I've had the exact same thing happen to me before (not at ABC, but other LFS) and I could smell the smoke coming out of your head.

That being said, I've never been more happy with my LFS, and I've lived all over the place the last 5 years.
 
funny how the tone of this thread changed when it came out that it was everyone's beloved store;)

Honestly, though, fact is that Mike should have at least read the tank before saying he had Percula's. I'm sure next time he will. I'm over it, just got a shipment in and am acclimating so this adventure to Syracuse is the furthest thing from my mind at this point.

Tim would like to apologize for my mistake and would like to offer you $60 store credit for taking the long trip out and will have a Percula waiting at the shop for you. Sorry for the trouble.
 
Wow, that is such a generous offer. I pm'd you already, but to reiterate, I find that this is highly (pleasantly) unusual, and more than I could possibly accept for such a problem. However, just having the offer is more than enough to make it right. I appreciate it and will at this point not discount shopping with ABC.

Like I said before, I know we make mistakes. I am certain next time I call any store to check stock, I'll be more skeptical and will probably ask more questions to be sure. And, I'm sure that you will be more diligent in verifying stock when someone calls next time. In brief, I am betting we have all learned from this, and that's the most anyone can ask for, really.

Kudos to ABC that is great customer service from a standup store. That’s why some of us stand by ABC Angela (not meant as sarcasm). Glad to hear it’s all ironed out.
 
Mike, tell Tim that you and I also had the same disagreement and that I'll be by later for my $60 credit, which I would prefer to take as cash. Thanks guys......yer the best.
 
Yep, gotta say, the direction this thread is going in is entirely ridiculous and unproductive. They would never have offered me $60 if I hadn't posted here, let's be real for a minute. Now, I'm not gonna take it, although if you calculate it out I did lose 3 hours of my time plus several gallons of gas for nothing, so probably overall it's due.

Can we close this thread, mods? You're right about this not being the place for something~dc It's been done, this isn't the place for it. They made a mistake, it's over now.

You know my young daughter reads this forum Angela. And she read this thread before me. Didn’t think I would have to R rate RC. How rood. Maybe you should show some restraint next time be fore posting crap like that.
 
I've followed this thread for a few days now- [not] to my surprise, it has gone in the wrong direction. Coming from someone who has experience working in a busy LFS, it's very easy to get livestock confused, especially when they aren't labeled correctly. The employee made an honest mistake and he took it upon himself to go out of his way to make it right. Working in the retail industry is very stressful, especially when there are live animals involved.

I understand your frustration, but take this as a lesson that maybe RC isn't the proper place to vent a personal issue with a store employee. Had you contacted the store owner in private, he could have spoken with his employee and handled the situation without questioning their integrity.

I've reported this thread in hopes that it is closed. In the future, please refrain from the vulgarity... nobody wants to hear it.

First of all mr86mister you may NOT participate in conversations concerning your place of work.

Secondly, if you ever read in the clownfish forum, and I know you do, even the guys that really know their clowns don't always agree on this debate.

And last of all, if you would have reported it sooner it would have been closed sooner.
