That is an incredible tank, growth and collection, and your photos are mind exploding. What camera and lens do you use? Looking forward to more updates.
Woah! It's crazy how they can loose appendages and grow them back during the molt. Never seen as detailed of a shot of the process though. Very cool!
I'll try to get some progress pictures today and maybe tommorw to see if anything intersting happens
In the mean time I captured this lil guy scampering across the Sunset Monte this morning

Seriously, everytime I see your pictures and how great of macro shots you get with a video camera I want to cry! Awesome photos, great tank! let's see some new full tank shots!
What I 'd realy like to do is set up a tripod and do a 7am to 12pm time lapse full tank video.
As I was cleaning up after a water change I noticed some water around my Ca reactor. Cleaning it up I must have nudged something and made it worse so I pulled the reactor. It looked like the MJ900 I use for a circulation pump was leaking so I cleaned it up, smeared some plumbers grease on the gasket and put it back together. On inspection I did not see any leaks so I thought I fixed it.
15 or so minutes later there is another small amount of water below the reactor and after closely inspecting the seals I see nothing wrong. What I did find was a small drip coming from the back plate or cover of the pump. I thought this was very unusual and potentialy dangerous so I replaced the pump.
Anyone ever have or hear of a MJ leaking from the back?
The whole ordeal has me thinking about using a different brand recirc pump or maybe getting a larger sump so the Ca Reactor can fit inside it.
I have never seen that but when I've run MJ's I've always run them submerged.
Wow, I'd say that's a pretty significant difference in temp swing since adding the fan. Definitely a solid degree and a half there.![]()
