Pete's 110 build

Amazing reef system you got going there Sir. Thanks for sharing and look forward to see further progress and updates.

Psteelb I have an ATI 8 bulb and 2 Reefbrite blue LED strips as my lighting. I was wondering what you think would work to mimic you lighting but with my 8 bulb and 2 LED strips...Do you think this could be accomplished? If so, what bulbs would you pick?

Thanks

Those pics make me wanna hit you up for some frags but my tank needs a few more months before even thinking about sps.

Beautiful beautiful shots. Your coral colours are unreal.

thanks, in some ways I feel lucky, but have to admit I learned a lot from reading forums and asking questions

I'll reply to your pm's on the subject but I'd focus on a couple, super actinics, some mid blues in the 15-20k range, at least one fiji purple and some cooler whites in the 12-14k range. Stay away from anything less then 10k unless you want to use it for just a high noon effect. Like others a few years back I though you needed some 7-10k light for growth but now I'm convinced otherwise unless you want algae growth. When you think about it you only have to go down about 6 feet or so and your yellowier whites (5-10k) lights are basically non existent, that tells me most reef corals are use to, and do just fine on spectrums higher then 10k.

Thanks Feh :)

Man you got some nice colors Pete, simply beautiful. Congrats on your video being featured, thats really cool.

Each time I see a new one of your videos, I want to cry at my pathetic-ness :). You are the man, seriously. A few years down the road, after saving up some cash, I am going to get you up here to help me start up a tank that can look like this!

Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Another great video - who needs cable TV!? :)

I've been wondering - what is the most difficult animal to keep that you have in your tank, and have you had any trouble with it? One more question: can you recommend any shrimp that don't really like to jump on top of every new coral they see?

thanks guys

I've had this coral for a month or so, pictures don't do it justice. I just can't seem to get the full red on blue

Those montis are absolutely beautiful. What, please, is the first one? If you tell me, I think I'll look for one! :)

I love the flame angel. Perhaps you have enough polyps to choose from that he'll visit them infrequently. I've heard that they generally pick on polyps that are sliming a bit - perhaps due to not being in great condition.

The coral is just a montipora digitata (un named) maricultured from Divers Den

the flame already cruzes through the corals picking on the polyps. He wont sit there and chow down, more just tasting, but I'm seeing the corals react with less PE due to it.
