The Neptune Systems I/O box came in from back order today and I see they improved on the wire connections. They use to have some spring loaded levers and changed them to a more traditional screw type.

Another great video Pete. Do you have any problems with your encrusting monti's invading other corals? Mine are trying to take over.

I do believe if left unchecked my sunset monte will take over the entire tank. My other montes are still small but the sunset wins over acroporas, algea and even zoas.

and I also believe the ocean reefs will eventually all be orange and green

Are you just cutting it back then?

Not yet but I need to. I'll probably hack chunks off where it is plating and/or kill it with some kalc paste. As for other areas I can clip it off and sell frags; an example would be like where it is plating out trying to cover up my candy apple red zoas

 Great vid of your new tang! Hahaha. I think he's more like... WooHoo, check out my new digs. Freedom at last!!! :D

exactly :)

You can mail me some chunks, Pete. No need to go killing it off. ;)

let me know if you are in the area and I'll clip some off for you

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I built the skimmer overflow storage today

items:

cereal container = $3.50
float valve = $6.00
misc pvc parts = $4.00

total cost under $15.00

the inlet is a tubing connector that threads into a 1/2" pvc coupling that is glued to the top
the vent is made from some 1 1/2" pvc parts to allow for threading off the vent, removing the top and placing a bag of carbon inside the vent
the float valve was attached by drilling and tapping a standard 1/8" NPT hole for threading the float valve to

even though the blues show up as purple in this video, the colors are still awesome

Great job on the skimmer overflow container. So the float valve will trigger the skimmer to shut down when the container is full?
