Two pictures for you regarding your coral.

In case people are wondering; in the first picture top right the larger deep purple with blue tip staghorn is from the same mother colony as the smaller pinkish coral on the right in the second picture. Marc has been growing the smaller one out from a 1-2" frag that I gave him a couple months ago. I always noticed it was a different color set then the mother colony in my tank. It's interesting to see the larger colony I gave him is holding the same colors as my mother colony but the smaller grow out coral is very different. Marc may chime in with a better description but my main colony and the large piece Marc has are both a deep purple with bright light blue tips and usually light blue polyps; the small grow out piece has a green tint base, a light bluish pink main body and light blue tips. It also looks like the polyps are a different color but also have more PE then my main colony.
It will be interesting to see these two coral in a few months. I'd like to see if the two corals Marc has morph to some common color set, or, if they will stay different. If they stay different, it may give some indication that conditions while in the early growing stages may have a lot to do with what color the coloration molecules produced by the coral end up producing, and/or, play some determining factor on what colors the symbiotic zooxanthellae take on or are most accepted by the host coral.
