ReefSitter's log continued:
Temp: 79.6
PH: 8.21 then 8.51!
Alk: 8.0 (api)
1. Your tank is getting a nice haze of algae on the glass, Jabba is munching on it and looking fatter than ever.
2. Kalk reactor was clogged again, had to blow in the gravity feed line. We might want to consider a small feed pump like an aqualifter to deliver the RO water. Something, anything with pressure.
3. The gravity feed shut off solenoid is making an ugly loud clicking sound, it may need to be replaced. Your ph is a bit high too. Please call me and tell me what to do. If I don't hear from you tonight, I'll shut off the blue kalk reactor feed valve before tonight's midnight dose and let you fix this tomorrow.

is the reactor clogging where the line meets the sump, or before?
if so, is the line submerged in the water or above the water dripping in?

The reactor was shut off, and I emptied your skimmer cup.
I checked the tank again this morning and ph fell back to 8.12. Marc thinks your ph probe needs replacing, I seriously contest the 8.6 number after only a galon of kalk.
The infernal clicking has stopped from your gravity feed solenoid.
All fish and corals look happy and healthy. Even the guy who was in the frogspawn looks much better.

I'm glad your tank is okay, and that Anthony was able to know what to look for and what to do to resolve it.

I doubt you will find the problem until such time as you think your going to leave town again. At that point it will surface and it will be too late at night to find the part you need before you leave in the morning.
Glad to hear all is well though![]()
