Ph spikes

Alright for some reason after testing the ph in my tank it has dropped lower.
It continues to stay low even after i add ph buffer.
I have added a buffer and a ph 8.2 stabilizer yet it continues to stay low.
Does anybody know any causes of this?
i've already had 1 snail die and don' want to lose my zoas.
Thanks

This really isn't the right forum to discuss pH issues. That would be the Chemistry Forum. There are many factors that affect pH, from a build up of CO2 in the home to a lack of circulation in the tank.

It could be an imbalance of alkalinity, calcium and magnesium levels. Usually a large water change will help level things out.

Don't keep dosing just because you want a magic number. Find out what all the parameters need to be. To be honest, I rarely even check my reef's pH. I check salinity and temperature way more often.

To be of any help, you'd need to post all of your parameters.

Temp - how is this being measured specifically?
Salinity - how is this being measured specifically?
pH - how is this being measured specifically?
Calcium
Alkalinity
Magnesium

How long has the problem been occuring?
What kind of water are you using?
What kind of additives are you adding if it is tap water?
etc...

And really, post it in the Reef Chemistry forum.
