Phantom head shaking??

I have a tusk and regal in QT that are about to come out, but just yesterday i saw my tusk head twitch. The fish HAD flukes but have since been treated 3 times with PP and the visible flukes I could see on the Regal are gone and have been for 2.5 weeks now. Question is why is my Tusk head shaking? I just added PP again last night and will let the fish stay in PP until wednesday. I don't believe that there are flukes still. The tusk never showed signs of flukes before even though I know they were present. No heavy breathing or scratching ect, just the head shaking that I have witnessed once now on the tusk. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I should add that the 2nd dose of PP I did was at double the recommended concentration. From what I have gathered some suggest that the head shaking could be from the tissue not being completely healed thus causing the issue?

IME, PP doesn't always kill the flukes. I have gone with 4 rounds of PP in the past and believe I still had them. I've tried metro too. I'm not sure what will definitely kill them.

I have used PP 4 times too and double the dose one of those times. The tusk has also been in CP and NFG for the past 3.5 weeks. I know Dylox and other insecticides will work but I really, really don't want to use them

To my knowledge trichlorfon (Dylox) kills crustacean, but I'm not sure it does necessarily harm to flatworms and especially trematodes.

Have you given those fish formalin baths? Skin and gill flukes shouldn't be able to handle formalin.

Yes they have had 2 baths and nothing came off that I could see. I have only ever witnessed the head shaking twice. In Bob Goemans and Lance Ichinotsubo book the health and feeding handbook it sites Trichlorfon (Dylox and several other products) at 1mg/L daily for 3 consecutive days. Also praziquantel powder mixed in foods at the same ratio has given "remarkable results"

According to the article about the public aquarium that killed all those fish accidentally:

Dylox is the organophosphate, trichlorfon. Trichlorfon is one of the active ingredients in many over-the-counter fluke/worm medications. While it has been shown effective against monogenetic trematodes (flukes), some monogeneans have developed resistance to this organophosphate. Dylox is also a neurotoxin that can cause serious harm to animals including humans. Fish exposed to high levels of Dylox (or old batches of Dylox) can exhibit nervous system and respiratory problems leading to death. Even low dosages of Dylox can visibly stress fish. For these reasons, it has fallen out of favor as a first-option fluke treatment.
