phos ban reactor

yes but its easier to use separate tlf reactors. also - if it is a phosphate reactor, not a canister filter, it should not be in a bag at all. it should be gently tumbling at the top of the media

Great question, Ive always wondered the same thing, im always looking for ways to spend money on things in my tank instead of things under my tank :)

In what order do you run you reactors?? one of my tlf pumps died so I hooked the 2 reactors in series, GFO 1st carbon 2nd.. any thoughts on that thanks..

Since I have only a 100g tank, I use a single PhosBan reactor and ordered extra pads so that I can seperate the GFO (Bottom) and the Carbon (Top). Works really well.

Good question...I do the opposite, carbon 1st, GFO second. I also run in series. I put a T on my return and that feeds into the reactors. No dedicated pump use...one less pump to buy, and less heat

I have a 55g tank and with the phosban it says to use 50grams which is only 1/4cp. it only fills the cylinder couple of inches. that is the way i asked. will get another one

The flow is the important part thats why you should separate the two media so you can set the flow right. Good decision IMO. I did the same and tee'd off my return. Less clutter and electrical use.

Actually I run two, and I just split the flow from the pump that i use... a Mag 2 I believe, and I still have to dial back the flow on both Reactors...

Thats what I suggest... I can always take one offline if needed.

Plus I believe that I wont cont. running Phosban, ue to the fact I have started doing vodka for the last mnt.

BTW I always love having a comment before or after palawan cause I love to see our two stupid avatars together!... lol

I run two separate reactors as well because of the different flow requirements. I run the GFO to flow from bottom to top, and the carbon to run from top to bottom (to prevent the carbon from tumbling and breaking up)

any one of a pic of there set up. if I am understanding correcty, tee of my supply to feed both reactors and have both returns back to fuge

I use one homemade Reactor on my tank. I run filter floss in the bottom, Phosban and then Carbon I have no problems and my tank looks great. Imo as long as its not passive it works good. However I have to agree that runing to reactors would be better.
