All 5 gallon water bottles have a blue tint to them.. I like the idea if the water bottle upside down. I made an adapter to fit in the hole with a water line (air hose size) and a T. The air blows in one leg while I have a valve on the other leg to harvest.

Are you using the blue 5 gal. jug for your phyto or your rotifers?

for the phyto. Its not suh a big deal for the rots.

Take a look at www.better-bottle.com. They are sold to homebrewers for fermenters. Nice and clear, non toxic, and plastic. They also can be had with ports for racking (draining) that would make for a nice algae growing container. Better than the heavy glass carboys, and no blue from the water jugs.
