Pic of SPS from my 275

Thanks for the reminder regarding mille's and prostrata's.

Yes, the dark purple one was aquired as a valida. Extremely slow grower for me, but very hardy. Has taken about 2.5-3 years to get to the size illustrated from about a 3/4" frag. Seems to be doing very well now.

nice lemonda

undata is my fave monti ... as it grows and encrusts and the begins to plate... just an awesome, massive coral

Thanks, and I agree the undata is one of the best monti's out there. I got this one from a friends system I bought when he moved. It was larger in his tank and started to plate. It receeded when I neglected the tank for a bit, but is growing again nicely.

I picked this up as a tiny frag about a year+ back from my LFS. Toronto is fortunate to have what I would consider one of the best reef shops anywhere in the world for livestock. They are known to get in the best stuff anywhere, whether it be from Indo or Australia. Regretably for us locals, many of the corals get re-exported to the US, however, sometimes they free up some nice frags for the old timers.

Dave, did this come from somewhere special delivery?
Thanks, this coral was darker green with pink polyps when I got it, however is has lightened up in colour since going in my tank. I will try and find an older pic of it when it was a new frag.

From a "frag" of one of these pieces:

To this in about 1.5 years with high light and high flow in my system:

I have never had a problem with my rock since I put it in the tank back in 2003.

Also, IME, the top surface of the rock never gets coraline algae as it is being baked by the 400W halides. It is generally black/grey or white, never purple. Massive coraline on the rock in the absence of direct metal halide lighting.

Wow great pics, im lovin the new look you have, your tank is still my favorite tank so thanks for sharin.

Amazing. I just read your TOTM article... I was curious how many water changes (if any) have you done since then?

Thanks. Not all SPS anymore, but after 4 years of SPS 24/7, was time for a change. Wife likes more fish, zoas and the once really big torch in there as well. Lots of movement compared to befoe.

Hands down, some of the nicest corals I've seen!

You bet, pick-up welcome if you are local, and I can ship across Canada as well. Send me a PM if you saw something you might be interested in.

Great corals! Are you selling frags...

Well, considering I have added more fish, and even a seahorse tank to this system, I still do not do that many water changes. Generally I try to do a 30G water change every month, and I estimate there is well over 300G of water in the system (270G display, 120G sump, 50G seahorse tank).

And to answer your question, since may, 2007 to date I have maybe done 6 water changes, most around 30G, maybe one of 50G.
