Picasso offspring

CHARLIE, they're lookin' good to me! I almost went the way you did until my lfs called me to say he just got a pair in. BTW, I paid a lot less than what the "going rate" seems to be.

Basser - Are yours "True" as per your lfs? Just trying to get a feel for what they say a "true" Picasso is supposed to look like.
Thanks.

My dealer is an ORA dealer, and since these came from ORA, I'm assuming they are picassos. At least that is what my LFS told me. They have a separate display of tanks in their store for ORA livestock.

I called the Blue Ribbon Koi, and they told me they still had some of the offspring of the ORA pair of true picassos, but that they had already sold all of the true Picassos. At $50 a pair I'm guessing that Charlie and basser each got offspring, not true, which is fine by me because the pics posted in this thread are beautiful. They may not be creme de la creme, but they are gorgeous.
Can either of you put me in touch with your lfs, to see if they have any left?
Thanks!!

basser didnt get them in VA he got them in indiana

As stated above:

"They came FROM the pair that produces what ORA is selling as picasso's, but may not have enough markings to call them picassos. Still, they are nice looking."

Thanks all for the kind words! These little guys are awesome for the 50 and there is some mismarkings. But again not enough to be true picasso non the less they are offspring of true, so as they mature into matting im hoping they will produce a fry that will have some true picasso in it thats what im after!!!

Have you researched on how to raise clownfish? From my experience, the only time I have got clownfish to breed was when they both hosted the same anemone.

Those are very nice clowns.
They are from ORA's picasso pair, but do not show the same distinctive patterns as the Picassos. ORA calls these guy's "extra blobbies". My LFS get these in all of the time.
Very nice no matter what anyone says.

As far as I'm concerned with the extra stripe on the gill plate (or sideburns) I'd call them picasso's. They may not have the middle bar of some of the more desirable picasso's ... but some of the more desirable picasso's also dont have the sideburns that yours have.

No dont know how to rasie clowns yet, but i think i have some time before they are ready to spawn. Does anyone know how long it takes for clowns to mature enough to spawn?

there is more than one pair of percula that they get these offspring from at ORA.

oama mentioned an F1 spawning regularly

I believe basser bought his at waters of the world in Evansville IN. very nice pair but alittle over priced if they aren't real picasso's..

Right you are treny. If they aren't real picassos, can I sue them for false advertising? LOL!!

Although I'd be surprised if they weren't seeing as to how they are an ORA dealer and they have a long time association with them. As far as price goes, compared to what they are going for in other stores and on the web, I think I got a good deal.

What, no one want to bleed them for sushi? :)

Anyone know how long ORA has been releasing these Picasso? I have not seen any mature Picasso pics only the juvies. If you have a mature pair with full colors please post. Thanks
