Pico Reef help!

Hi, new member here, i already have a biocube29 in my living room, and i wanna have a pico reef on my desk upstairs, no more than 5 gallons, im planning on using a pice of live rock and water from the biocube, do water changes with water from the biocube every other day, is this possible or am i just looking for trouble? lol:spin2:

Sounds like a plan, only don't use waste laden water from a tank for a water change always use fresh made up water. Water changes as often as you mentioned are great, they are never enough or in sufficient volume so at least thats a step up from the every two weeks norm.

There are people who use old reef water for changes in their pico however it is not the common mode for long term success. Pico reefs make and concentrate their own wastes and benefit from a breath of fresh air as often as possible
