Dose anyone have a chevron Tang that has mautred to an adult? I am looking to see who has had long tern success and how their coloration changes as they mature past the juvenile stage.

tagging along. i'm interested as I have one (~2.5-3"). I'm wondering what size they change coloration too. I've seen juveniles, and i've seen larger adults, but never any mid-size ones! Interesting how that works.

on average, I've seen them changing coloration around the 3.5"+ mark, they just keep getting more and more lines.. I've had my current juvie since it was 1" and it is now 2", has doubled the amount of lines on it's body already, but only started out as a few

I've had mine for about 2.5 years now and he is pushing the 3.5" mark. I got him when he was about the size of a quarter. The color change has started, but i can tell that it is a very slow transition. He has been slowly getting darker, but its hard to notice the difference because it is happening so slowly. I'm sure if i can find a pic of him from a year or two ago and looked a pic now the difference would be huge, but he is still a long way away from full adult coloring. I cant wait for the full change the adult coloration is one of my favorite in any fish.

mine is great. pretty peaceful, doesn't bother anyone (with the exception of a new addition, which the aggression is pretty subdued, not much damage, and dies down quickly).

spends most of his day nipping at the rockwork for some algae.

This is from a few months ago. I should get an updated pic.

What's interesting is I got him small, my powdered brown was still small but larger then the cheveron. After adding him to the tank they fought once chev had a huge gash, he recovered and now has grown to the same size if not slightly bigger then the powdered brown.

While they lose so much of their colour a cheveron tang is a great fish to have because he does a great job with algae eating. Even the glass doesn't need to be scraped as much because of him.

Any Nori feeding tips on this fish? Cant get my new specimen to eat dried seaweed, chews it up and spits it out??? Will eat all frozen offerings, including formula two, mysis, brine etc. I was considering picking up some emerald entree since he seems to like frozen foods. Any ideas?

(grazes on live rock and glass well)
