Pics of my sps growth

Here are some growth photos of my sps. It's not much, they are mostly encrusting. Does anyone know if this growth is on par with everyone else's? Thanks.

Tank info: 2x250 watts reeflux 12k mh lights supplemented with diy royal blue/uv cree 3watt led bar.


Tri-color Valida: July 14, 2012 - Oct 03, 2012
In June, I suffered an alk crash and most of my sps' rtn'd. I cut off the rtn and stuck all the little branches from my tri-color colony onto epoxy to make a new mini colony, lol.

Thanks jsdancer! Getting sps to color up nicely is tough and expensive!

Yes, looks like things are heading in the right direction. Hard to say if your growth is "on par" as there are so many variables... but if you had a crash and now are having that growth and colour, you are on your way!

Thanks. I started this tank as my first saltwater aquarium 1 year ago and I think I'm finally understanding what it takes to raise sps. I feel like a slave to my tank though with all the maintenance but it's very addicting and fun watching them grow.

Very nice growth. I'm just jumping into SPS right now and watching the growth is a bit addicting. Keep up the good work. Do you have any before and afters of the plating monti's?
