Pictures of Bomber's barebottom SPS tank and related equipment

Bomber, what are you talking about, you post pics all the time. I guess you mean your going to show me how to do it. I'm ready.

Better try again, Reefrubble. I just tested them both and they are working for me. Looks like I can shift the blame for once. ;)

We are very careful. Tonight was Spaghetti night, and we had to vent the hot air away from the tank. ;)

Ok, this has been a bit of a secret project of mine, but here is the 2 gallon NanoTube (TM) I'm working on the patent.

It has a built in sump, 18w PC lamp, temp controlled fan and heater, as well as a autotopoff. The temp controlled fan and topoff makes a good cooling system.

Here's a great temp controller for nano's:

Oooh, that is way cool. And why is it that every controller we ever need costs $80 or more dollars?

I love it! Just hate the price.

I also like the idea of your tank with a built in sump. That is really the best way to go. I've been playing with some ideas in my head for my Pico, but haven't had the time to try anthing out.

I got the idea from the "Nano" issue of "Coral" magazine. They used a pipe to direct air bubbles up and draw water up from the sandbed. I just turned it into an overflow...

I put down the wrong controller. This one is $65 and has one input, not two:

...a little bit cheaper :) Its so hard to find anything on their website, I have to use google and search their site. Its a wonder they have any business.

unrelated question, but what do acros eat? phyto? zoo? im just curious.

Beautiful reef Bomber. We think alot alike as far as aquascaping goes. I like to be able to see down both sides of my reef and i cant stand the wall of rock method that is so dominant in this hobby. It seems to me that alot of the DSB people that like to come in here and drop "subtle" flames are newbies and have not had multiple sandbed tanks so they dont know of some of the headaches associated with them. My SPS is going to be clean, i will leave the softie tank "dirty: :D I am almost finished with my 180 BB build and cant wait to make the move :D

same here. don't get me wrong, some walls of rocks look fantastic, it's just not for me.
