Pictures of Bomber's barebottom SPS tank and related equipment

Bomber said:
Jay, it's called "gutter guard". You put it on the gutters around your house to keep leaves out. You can probably get it at any hardware store.
I just cut it to fit and put the pieces together with pull ties.

Thanks, I knew they made gutter guard in metal, but had no idea there were plastic versions. Off to Home Depot today.

Bomber has temporarily retired from threading. He's out there though, just have to do some looking...

So I guess we need a BOMBER sighting thread...lol

I could post a few things on a thread like that, but it would get deleted so fast it's not worth the effort.

Good choice then.

I had you in mind Anemone when I made that choice.

I know the rules here.

This seems like the perfect thread to ask questions about a barebottom setup. So if you don't mind, here's mine.

If I'm going to setup a completely new barebottom tank can I cook the LR in the tank itself and does that change the process at all? Also would it be possible to do it all at once? (This is asuming you need to cook new cured LR at all, which I suppose is another question)

Also regarding flow. It was recommended to me that I'd want 30x or more turnover for a SPS tank. Can this number be lower due to the more open conditions in a barebottom tank or is it just all the more beneficial due to the ease of flow?

Thanks.
