Pictures of my Tyree Ice fire Echinata

I was taking some pictures of my tank, and wanted to post pictures of this coral. It is my favorite sps coral hands down. I got a few frags out of it from shipping, I was bummed out about it breaking. Also feel free to post your pics.

Metal halides, and T5's

Also the first two pic's are from the day I got it, so the color is a little off.

and i thought i received a huge frag.

how are you getting that green coloration? where is it in terms of light.

I have it about 1' from the light's. I have 175 watt metal halides, and T5's. I really didn't buy it at a frag price. I also want to thank Danw for all the help when I was trying to acquire this coral.

The green is a result lighting in this case, phosphate can add a green tinge to it.

Nice Jim, how is the growth rate for you? And also how big was it when you bought it? I have some frag's that broke off that I will sell, So I'm wondering if they are even worth selling.

lol That is about as big as the"frag" I currently have, that is about 10x the size of when I bought it a year ago... :D

That's stunning Mchava.

Jade, that was the size when I got it. I can't complain about the growth. Encrusted now, little bigger, branches forming...

Mike, I'd love to have you over again. Anytime. Camera or no. Have some frags for you. Of course, Andy and I hope to make it out your way soon. That is maybe my favorite pic of all the ones you took that day, and you took a lot of great shots.....:D

I've always known this piece to be called the Aquascene's Ice Fire Echinata.....not Tyree's. Nice coral.

Is it that much diff than ORA's? Mine is about 10mos old and was that size when I got it. For reference, the green leather is about 10" across.

Stanley-Reefer the ora is a different color and shape then the icefire. In my opinion I dont think its a echinata but an A. Turakis, but iam just guessing since I have a Turakis that looks just like it.

when it was under 10k hamiltons it looked alot more like the first post, it was navy blue and turquoise. I'm sure the color is still there but is more more blue under the phoenix 14ks now, but growth has sped up exponentially!!!

Novemver 08 under the haies; doubled in size at that time.
