pink lemonade

I got a frag of Tyree Pink lemonade acro at a frag swap a few month ago. it is about 1" tall. It really hasnt put on much height maybe a 1/4", but it has encrusted over the plug it is on and onto the rock I mounted it to. Will it start putting out growth tips to make branches after it has encrusted so much? All my params are in check.

I think that's pretty common with the PL. They encrust and then at some point will start branching.

+1. My pink lemonade started out looking like an encrusting montipora. Once it has settled in (i.e. grown a nice, large base), it will begin to branch.

+2 - mine took around 6 months to fully encrust and then it began sending up lots of small shoots. From there, it has really taken off!

thanks for the replies....Im going to have to take some growth pics to be able to look back. Maybe I'll do that with the other frags I have to see how much they grow over a few months.

took about 5-6 month with no growth.. then one day BOOM! now it seems to double in size every month

Nice pictures! I especially like the progression shots, so I will post my growth pics too. When I bought the frag the disc was already encrusted, but it did encrust a bunch more before it started really branching.

WOW fantastic growth ryshark!
I just got a frag for my nano and the PE is insane! It looks light right now (sat in the bag overnight and this is a pic from day one). Its started to get some color back and is my favorite piece right now.

This coral was always in a bad spot, so I rarely had any pics of it. I know that BA was surrounding it's base, and prevented it from puddling out more than it had.

Major growth the past month, never noticed it until I broke it off it's rock and moved it.
