Pink margin wrasse ok with this mix

Well, I did it again. I went into my LFS to get food when I saw a stunning pink margin wrasse. He is huge - I would say about 6 in.

I already have a lineatus, flame, pintail, and radiant. All are smaller than the margin. Any issues adding the margin?

280g
See signature below for other fish
It is a fowlr
Forgot - also have a solorensus and lubbocks but they are considerably smaller

Probably will come down to your rock work and hiding spots, the pink margin will be fine it its some of the smaller wrasse that may end up being a issue

Pink margin wrasse ok with this mix

Adding a new fish to one that has that many is always a risk. But I think given the size of your tank, and the fact that these wrasses are far from the dominant ones, should lower the risk of any prolonged fighting.

I find that having many wrasses makes it easier to add a new wrasse. The pink margin being larger helpss. The fish I would be most concerned with is the lineatus wrasse, as they are similar in looks and closely related within the Genus, but that being said I have kept them together without issue.

If it's going to squabble with anyone, it's likely to be the lineatus. These two often don't work together in smaller tanks.

Given the size of your tank however, I wouldn't worry about it.

I had a 5" pink margin wrasse that I added to a 120 tank; got along fine with everyone except a female clown fish. Ended up trading away the wrasse because the clown wouldn't let the wrasse leave the right side of the tank. Pretty fish and very mellow.

be careful withe the lineatus.. ask yourself if you would remove the lineatus in order to keep the Pink Margin because that is what it may come to... And I'm guessing the lineatus ain't going anywhere...

I got my Pink Margin when a local reefer added a new Lineatus and the Male Pink Margin (~5") was not happy about it... I would say your best luck would hinge on your newly added Pink Margin being bigger than the Lineatus...

Definitely an acclimation box would be in order when introducing the pink margin and see how the other inhabitants react to it
