Hi,

I have a pipe organ that has been taken over by red slime algae. What can I do seeing it is such a fragile coral??????

thanks

Try taking a turkey baster and blowing the cyno off the pipes. Then get more water flow to that area and see if that keep the cyno away for good. :)

When it is closed, use a small pipette and gently blow it off. If you add iodine, try putting a little around the coral, this will inhibit the algae growth. Be VERY careful if you do this. Don't use too much. I use Kent Tech-I. Also, the best way to help your coral is to starve the algae. Keep nitrates, phosphate and silicate as low as possible.
