I am interested in getting a pistol shrimp but am unsure of there behavior and have not found much info on them.
1. how easy is it to pair them with a goby

2. what size aquarium do they need

3. do they move a lot of sand

4. anything else you can think of and personal experiences :)

Question 1:
I've had my tiny pistol shrimp for about two weeks or so, and it still hasn't paired up, in fact, I never see it, but hear it every night.

3:
I think when they are big, they will. And my LFS mentioned that if any rocks are unstable, the pistol shrimp can cause them to collapse by burrowing, and will alwyas shift the sand

4:
They are capable of eating small shrimp (smaller than a peppermint) Mine has not eaten my sexy shrimp or numerous anemone shrimp, but it is very small.

Mine paired up with a goby the first day it was in the tank, It was a little larger though. I think that the full grown shrimp pair up faster than the small ones.

It moves alot of sand around, and doesn't bother my scarlet cleaner shrimp.

I keep mine in a 180, but they did just fine in a 10 gallon quarantine tank.
