Pistol too big?

What size does a pistol shrimp become too big for safety? so far I have lost 2 gobys,yellow watchman and a yashe hashe. My pistol is problably 3 1/2".

that's so wierd my pistol shrimp and yellow watchman are good buddies, you never find them apart from eachother...

Well it depends on what kind of pistol it is. My red pistol pretty much wiped out my inverts, but leaves the fish alone. Tigers should pair with the gobies. Maybe the gobies killed each other. My Watchman's are not toleran of like species.

I hate to ask, but you are talking about a pistol shrimp, not a mantis shrimp right? I only ask because it's the mantis shrimp forum, but if you're trying to pair gobies up w/ a 3 1/2" mantis then deaths wouldn't be so surprising!

Jason, my ~2" pistol from TBS is responsible for taking out a couple peppermint shrimp over the last year and a half, but that's all I've had in the tank with it.
