Pix & ID: Critters that come in your rocks: the good and the bad.

I've got something new growing on my live rock so i was wondering if anyone knew what it was... it's that white stuff.

G'day, I have this little critter in my tank but am unsure what he is, any help would be appreciated! He is about 2-3 inches long, and has these three lump things on his head end. I've tried to get a pic of him but he rarely shows himself, so this is the only pic I have thus far. Sorry for the poor quality.

Cheers, Paul.

It's a chiton, harmless grazer.

Hello can someone please help me identify what this is. It came in as a hitchhiker and thought that it was some sort of anemone. I am now getting suspicious that it might be an aiptasia anemone.

What kind of worm?

What kind of worm?

I've spotted two small worms in my rocks.
I think they are bristle worms. Both are under 2" and about spaghetti thickness. They look spiney all over, all about even. Reddish, orange in color.

I have these two "slugs" for lack of a better word. I had recently added some nassarius snails to the tank, and at first they had "lost" their shell, which I realize probably can't happen. One is an inch long, the other about 1/2 inch, and I see them on my rock and glass. Any idea what they are? Are they helpful? Harmless? need to come out quickly?

Both of them:

Smaller one close up - no, the clown fish aren't huge, just investigating me, closer to the lens..

Stomatellas, good algae grazers.
I have pics of a Nassarius that lost its shell on my Homepage, they're curled up, not flat like you'd imagine.

Mike, Caulerpa will quickly take over a tank. Very hard to get rid of once established.

Thanks, SushiGirl.

I have to tell you your homepage is AMAZING! It took me a minute to find the address in your profile page, but it was time well spent. You have a LOT of wonderful pictures, as well as a wide range of hitchhikers!

Thanks for the effort of keeping that up!

John

Feather duster worm? Anemone?

Feather duster worm? Anemone?

It looks plump like anemones. It hides in a hole in a rock and comes out at various times.
When I look at feather duster worms they usually look more fine and have more "tentacles".

Also my bristle worm is over 4" half orange and half purple.

Only can see part of it in this picture but looks like the north end of an aiptasia to me.
