Bought some live rock from a guy now I see this thing. He looks harmless but wanted to check:

good stuff..!! I saw one on my trumpet coral and than my trumpet coral died so I figured that's what did it but maybe not..

Yeah, but they're hard to get batteries for, especially that will last for any length of time. I bought a couple a while back with another charger, but ended up mostly using it with the cord. Someone told me I could get that camera fixed, but I haven't looked into it.

Mine started failing intermittently and I switched to another, then gave it away to a friend. It was by far my favorite digital camera. Looking forward to having it for photos of my livestock. wish me luck ;-)

We got some uncured LR from our LFS, Live Rock was from Indonesia. I noticed some of these white things and I finialyl got a good picture of one that formed close to the edge of the tank. I'm not sure it it's a coral or if it's a hitchiker.

Any Ideas?

Mystery

I have noticed several small tentacles coming out of the sand and under the edge of my chalice for about two weeks. today I saw ball mass of tentacles on top of sand about .5" way from chalice. pulled ball mass out. it is some type of worm with hair/tentacle. after some research I believe it to be Cirratulidae/hair worm. tried to take a picture but it stays balled up with sand granules. The article I was reading from did not have picture's , only a drawing

friend or foe

Im pretty sure I have a Polyclad flatworm in my brand new set up. I just added live rock to seed the system and noticed it flying out from one of the rocks when I went to position it in the tank. It was red, flat, about and inch long and elliptical. So my question is, since i don't have any snails in the system right now could i wait it out and let it starve so it doesn't become a problem? Ill post a picture if i ever find it again

I've searched through this thread looking for what I have in my tank and I post looking for help. Looking like some kind of encrusting thing but can't tell what it is. It's on some rocks and now growing near some zoas. .

(sorry for the iPhone pics)

suebugs, I have no idea how long it takes them to starve to death. I do know that it takes 10 days for them to die in a bowl of water with a dose of CoralRx :lmao:.

dubdlee, that's sponge.

Just found the second bad Isopod in my filter. And where there are two.....
These guys are living just fine without a host fish. I may need to rig an Isopod trap.
